Gently sloped bowls perfect for serving desert or hanging as decor on a wall. Each wheel-thrown stoneware piece was high-fired in an atmospheric soda firing.

During the soda firing that plates were in, the live flame was fueled by gas and soda ash was introduced into the firing so that it would vaporize and create glaze effects on the vessels in the kiln. The listed coupe plates were thrown with a white stoneware and sprayed with a flashing slip. The more metallic plate was on the top of a stack that was nested with “doughnuts” of refractory material. The plates with the circle accents collected soda ash to create glass effects and carbon trapping created the dark halos. NOTE – The plates with decorative halos are for decorative use only.
